hi all
why do i feel that denon dj is dead
been waiting for drivers update for the midi 2.0 since long and no responses from them
and the players didn't get the 4.5 update from the day they released the rane one till now.
i might consider selling the whole sc 6000m set, which is still new and get pioneers again

There is a MIDI 2.0 preview update that is being offered that works around the drivers for most InMusic controllers...
Here is the Discord link for that and detailed instructions: https://discord.com/channels/980245825202552942/1488704319271206933/1488704319271206933
This just came out yesterday and it works on the Rane Four (InMusic) with MIDI 2.0 enabled.

Denon is also InMusic and use basically the same drivers for the newer controllers. A lot of Rane, Denon and Hercules controllers were affected by MIDI 2.0 when it first came out. You could also try the fix that Virtual DJ has put out in Early Access. It has a function to disable MIDI 2.0.
Microsoft put out a fix a couple of days ago that addresses this but InMusic drivers are also being updated as well. When those will be available is anyone's guess.
I do not know if the SC6000M is affected by all of this but The Prime 4 is.

It's not early access anymore. The fix was in 9245 and the standard release is now 9246.

The SC6000 and the LC6000 are affected, but on the latest Virtual DJ update its fixed except the LC6000 screens are still not working properly as they don't show the needle while playing the song, nor the artwork

Nothing has been fixed!
The workaround from the VDJ team, which disables MIDI 2.0, is very good and thx for it!!! , but the underlying problem persists and can probably only be solved by InMusic.
Looking at the bug lists here, which have long affected Denon DJ, Soundswitch, and now also RS1, and seeing how slowly they're responding, I currently have little hope.
(I mean InMusic)
That's why we, as a small event equipment supplier, have stopped selling Denon DJ and InMusic devices.
In the end, everything will be returned anyway because the bugs aren't being fixed.
We made this decision after a wholesaler in Germany advised us to do so. Personally, I'm a fan of the Prime4+, and it works well for me.
However, our customers want everything to work smoothly—after all, the money it brings in isn't due to faulty equipment.
It is what it is… very, very unfortunate.

I feel the same way about InMusic. The last firmware (1.7) for the Rane Four was so buggy that it was unusable... It took them the better part of a year for them to fix it. So, yes, I have little faith in InMusic solving their problems, at least in a timeline that's acceptable to us.
What is InMusic? A corporation who has bought a lot of underperforming Music companies, fired key personnel to 'slim down' and generally watered down its product lines. Even Alpha Theta is owned by Noritsu Koki holding company. What does all of that mean for us? A lack-luster buying experience.
I use Virtual DJ with my Rane Four but It was designed for Serato. Why? Virtual DJ is much better software for the kind of hot-mixing I do. I also saw that their dev team responds to users quickly when there is problem... They even solve problems for their users that are totally unrelated to Virtual DJ (the MIDI 2.0 problems). Lastly, the Virtual DJ community as a whole is great help. I just feel bad for all the DJ's that do not have IT experience to keep their systems up during these times.
