I have an ext drive plugged in for 5 days, yet when I look for a track it's not there, but it is. When I batch that drive I have to wait for however long and then it appears! What setting am i missing to make the library build faster....please.

Not easy to give you the right answer, we need some more infos:
- Your OS (Mac/Win, Version)?
- external HD is formated as?
- Do you try to add steams or only BPM and Key?
- Some Specs about your HW could be helpfull ...
- Your VDJ-Version (B.-No.?)
