Hi,
I need a simple skin built! I have looked over the detailed skin building mechanisms that have been thoroughly discussed in the forums. I have also tried using the "Skin Builder" app. I'd rather not struggle to figure out the whole process anymore (I have seen the simple set of instructions for XML editing).
Would it be appropriate to ask somebody to create what I desire for compensation...or is there another method?
Here is what I require for my specialized gig
4 and 4-Decks spaced across top. Only need "artist" and "song" "remain" display area, Play & Stop buttons underneath. Volume slider & VU meter on left of each deck.
Blue Green Yellow Red (spaced out across top of screen with a little space between each
Blue Green Yellow Red deck)
Default/standard bottom part of screen (browser & associated areas) This area will probably take up 3/4 of screen.
That's it! I would appreciate any considerations. Thanks eh!

No waves? No song position wave?
Just 4 decks in separate identical units [no symmetry?] about 1/4 screen height, laid out decks 1, 3, 4, 2 like that?
Any colour scheme variations [daylight/dark etc] ?
I can knock that up.

Hi Locodog,
Thanks for answering my post
Correct,
No wave forms
No positions
Just use the default color scheme of Virtual DJ
as my post states - 8 decks, just 4 across evenly spaced and 4 more underneath them
it all sounds goofy, I know, but it will serve my needs perfectly.
Is there a way for us to connect?
Thx again!

A little clean up needed here and there. An unusual use case but it makes sense for sports arena PA.

Maybe it's just me, but I fail to understand how/why someone would use 8 decks.
I can understand the "need" for up to 4 decks, eventhough myself never goes beyond a third deck and that's on rare cases.
But 8 ?
I'm not bashing it. I just can't understand why someone would want 8 players in this era that:
A) Samplers banks with unlimited samples do exist (and therefore you don't need to load audio effect samples on a deck to play them) and
B) Loading new tracks on decks is instant. It's not like you're going to wind up a cassete or something :P
C) Hotcues do exist (and therefore you don't need precious time to seek through a track to find the right spot to play it from).
But anyway!
If someone can enlighten me on why 8 decks are needed, I would be gratefull. :)

I've quit asking such questions, but figure people like the idea of their own skin for their specialism. Only displaying the stuff they need in a way that works with their existing work flow. Having never been to an ice hockey game I don't really know what PA/MC involves, but can imagine it would involve having several tracks ready to go [with full volume control] at any moment [goal/fight/big miss/intense attack/jumbotron/injury], then a couple of decks just for music.
Waiting for this guy to turn up again, he replied in pm's quickly "speak on saturday" ... it's now next thursday, I hope he's ok.
