Topic: Button to set Automix Start Point.
Hello all, I am reaching out for some help regarding how to create a button which allows you to set where automix starts the next track, and also include including a 3 second gap between songs.

If I set 'automixMode' 'skip silence' and 'fadeLength' set to -3 it gives the 3 second gap, but starts at the beginning of the song.

Current attempt almost works:
"deck 1 hot_cue 1 & deck 1 cue_name 1 'StartPt' & deck 1 set_mixpoint 'StartSound'"

But instead of adding 3 seconds of silence starts the song 3 seconds early.

Context is I am developing a skin for Tango DJs and other social dancers so are looking for some functionality that is a bit different from most club DJs. It is nice to have consistent pauses between songs, and some songs it is desirable to start part of the way through.

Any suggestions on how to get this to work properly would be greatly appreciated.

There's a pad page in the download section to quickly set automix points

Hello KRADCLIFFE,
thank you for the reply. I did see the pads (Found Automix Live that allows you to set cues). Unfortunately it seems like they still did not allow you to include a gap of silence between the two songs (Or at least it didn't when I was testing)

Ideally I am hoping for the following functionality:
1. Work just like Automix when 'fadeLength' is set to a negative number (Give a gap of silence between songs)
2. Start the song at a set point instead of at the beginning

Apologies if your answer gives this functionality and I just missed it

You want an edited version of the track, so use the track cleaner to make an edited version.
You could always not use an edit and throw in a mute on mute off over the minus duration but automix has singledeck/dualdeck mode so it gets messy and I don't fancy remaking automix, I don't enjoy scripting workarounds round for it.

Good to know it wasn't just me missing something simple. This is mainly for use by other people so was seeing if there was a way to save them the trouble of pre editing tracks.
Thinking I will just bag the idea and recommend to people who want a similar functionality set a cue point and turn off automix.
Thanks for the help anyways :-)

It can be done, I've remade automix several times, but unless you force dualdeck it becomes unmanageable.
Good luck maintaining it, because despite explaining 'this is how this thing works' users will drag from desktop and it's 'your fault' for it not working, despite you explicitly saying it doesn't work like that.
