I chose the slip button on the left deck as I don't use it. But when I map the button, the original mapping to slip is still there. What do I do to delete the original mapping so slip is gone and the slip button is used to toggle reverb on/off.

If you don't use slip then simply delete the part of the mapping that refers to it and replace it with your own script.

I have been trying to do this for 3 days. It doesn't work. The default overrides my custom script.

Do you refer to DDJ-REV7 ?
The mapping of SLIP button is as simple as it gets <map value="SLIP" action="slip_mode" />
So all you have to really do, it to delete slip_mode and type in effect_active 'reverb'
Also keep in mind that the key DNC_SLIP_MODE is for the screens and you should NOT change it.
