Topic: Latest version Logout and re-sign in
Guys I HATE that after a Windows Update or a re-start I have to re-sign in, and go to email to click on stupid link.

I HATE it.

This is not progress.

This has happened to me too despite only having one PC on the license.

Same issue with getting logged out of the forum web page randomly too.

Seems to have started happening recently and it is bugging to say the least. Never ever had this issue before. I previously had two machines logged in permanently and never had to change anything.

Were these changes in the changelog, no they weren't.

Well that's strange as it's not happening here. I'm visiting the forum regularly, and running VDJ on two separate computers, but no issues with logging in.

Both the forum and VirtualDJ (on both PCs) open and run just fine, with my account remaining logged in.

And you're using your license on only TWO systems ?

Yes it's strange hence the reason it's being highlighted.

I have two separate licenses with only my home PC on one and my DJ machine and backup on the other one so they technically should never be logged out.

I'll keep a closer eye and if it happens again I'll report back, although my previous thread about constantly getting logged out of the forum never went anywhere.

What I'm getting at is, it's unlikely to be a VDJ issue, otherwise we'd all be seeing it...

I'm on the latest version too.

There were other users on the Facebook page reporting they were being randomly logged out so it's definitely something that needs investigated.

Wouldn't be great turning up at a gig with no internet connection and suddenly finding your machine has logged out for no reason.

Yes, I don't mind the systems thing, it's the logging out in back in again.

That's just a matter of having a backup license file on the computer, so if you ever do find yourself logged out at a gig (which should only occur if you've logged in on too many computers) then you put the license file back in the folder where it needs to be be.

If the venue has no internet, then VDJ would not be able to check online when it runs, so it would use the license file.

For the license file to be missing, VDJ would have to run, have internet access, see that another computer had logged in, then delete the file.

But people don't know that and shouldn't have to do that if things just worked.

But people SHOULD know that, and be prepared, because that's the way the licenses have worked for years now.

Really, people should know where the license is kept, which file and in the now hidden home folder?

Yes we are experienced users who know this but everyone else?

Most users just switch on their PC and rightly expect everything to work, as it should.

Yes, if they want to ensure that they'll never run into the issue you mentioned.

IMO the VDJ license system is well designed to prevent that ever happening anyway (see above).

I think dublinmike's issue is different anyway, because he's running multiple computers, in multiple venues, each (he says) with its own separate Pro license - and yet he's getting flagged by VDJ (presumably on his subscription account) due to logging in to too many computers.

The systems (PCs) thing matters. It always did. If you log in on a THIRD computer then the FIRST one will log out. That has always been the case and pretty much that's what seems that has happened here as well.
