Topic: Database change drives
Hello.

I'm sorry, I searched the forum, but couldn't find a right topic.

Long story short.
Got all my music on C: drive.
Got an external drive, copied the music folder to that (F:) and pugged this external drive in the USB Hub port of my Denon MCX8000.
In VDJ I toggled autoSearchDB to 'No'.
Still my Favorite folders and Filter folders won't show the tracks from the F: drive.

What am I doing wrong here, please?
Thank you in advance for your time, patience and help.

You set autoSearchDb to No, so how is VirtualDJ supposed to know about the files on the F: drive?
Did you use VirtualDJ to copy the music folder? Did you manually add the F: drive to the database?

Fair enough.

I manually copied the files to F:

BTW, in my Favorite folder I see double files. From C: as well as from F:

Basically I just want VDJ to show and read tracks only from F:

Do add to search db on the music folder on F:, and remove from search db on the music folder on C: then.
A favorite folder points to a specific folder, so it can't show files from 2 places (unless you made a favorite folder of a filter folder or list perhaps)

Bro, you are a LEGEND! Thanks!
I just added another condition "Drive is F" and now all my favorite folders show only tracks from F:

Now I just need to find a solution for my Favorite folder 'Tracks' to read and show the tracks from F:
Now all my tracks shown are from C:
How do I add search db on F: please? I only see two options: turn it on or turn it off.
Where do I look for this option in VDJ, please?

I just deleted my old favorite folder and created a new one from the F: drive.
So I think I got all that i wanted.

Thank you so much again.
You Sir, are a absolute Legend! Thanks!

NOPE!!! Still not where I want to be.

I noticed that my new tracks I have saved to the F: drive don't show in my filter folders.

I saw in Windows Properties the file path of my filter folders were C:
So I deleted all of them, created new ones and they STILL have the file path C:
So I cut these filterfolder.vdj and pasted the in my map F:\Virtual DJ.
Now...I see in properties the file path is F: which is great.
But I still can't see my newest tracks.

What am I doing wrong here, please?
Any help is much appreciated.
Thank you in advance.

Did you add the new files you added to the search db?

How do I do that?

I never had to do that.
Originally I stored my tracks on my internal SSD (C:).
But because it started to take up so much space my laptop started to get slow. That's why I wanted to use an external drive (F:) only for my tracks and deleted the tracks on C:

Before F: all my new music just appeared in my favorite folder "music" and all my filter folders. Happy days.
Not anymore. :/

Right click the music folder on the F: and select add to search db.
If you turn autoSearchDb back on it's even easier, then you just have to browse to the folder with the new music

autosearchdb is on.

Rightclick folder doesn't see add to searchdb even when I select 'more options'.

Wait.... I think that might have worked.

Edit: YESSSSS!!! Thanks again so much, bro!!!
