When I updated VirtualDJ today to version v2025 b8645, the Database.xml and Settings.xml files were overwritten.
All hot cues are gone and all titles are seen for the first time TODAY.
This means all the changes I've made over the past few years, including all play counts, are gone.
How can I restore them?
I have a backup.

In all fairness that just shouldn't happen in normal circumstances.

Yes but the Database backup does not bring back everything.
It does not read the playlist folder (m3u) correctly.
A lot of playlists are missing.

The backup created by Virtual DJ didn't restore the database correctly.
Only a complete restore of the entire VirtualDJ folder from a backup using Robocopy was able to restore the correct information.

According to the manual, the onboard VDJ backup system does back up playlists - so the issue could be that you're still using M3U, which VDJ stopped using quite some time ago now.
How many M3U playlists do you have, and how many are missing? Are they particularly large playlists? Anything unusual about them (file location, file types, file names...)?

Are you sure it didnt just install to the newer location and your previous install and VDJ directory is at the older location?
I saw this happen to me and i simply needed to move the files across to the new installation directory.
