Topic: Unstable audio settings at startup / Windows 11
I often have issues when launching VDJ and connecting my controller, to have audio not functionning (everything else [!] works fine).
Audio settings keep disconnecting/reconnecting.
It comes from the PC (Windows 11 and it happened before with other controllers or PC).
The point is that I have no clue where this problem comes from.

My current solution is quite simple: reboot the computer. And it's efficient.
Yet, I'd be happy to have a quicker procedure, by knowing the faulty component here, and just taking care of it/preventing the issue to happen.

Thanks for your help.

Step1:
Pick a USB port and always connect your controller on THIS port

Step2:
Connect the controller on the USB port you picked.
Open Windows Sound Settings and
  1. Make sure that exclusive access (Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device) is DISABLED for the playback interface of your controller
  2. Make sure that exclusive access (Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device) is DISABLED for the recording interface of your controller
  3. Make sure windows are NOT using the playback interface of your controller as their default playback device
  4. Make sure windows are NOT using the recording interface of your controller as their default recording device
  5. Make sure windows are NOT using the playback OR the recording interface of your controller as their default communications device

If you absolutely have to use different USB ports each time you perform, connect your controller on the next port and REPEAT all the above steps, until you have connected your controller on every possible port.

Thanks for the quick and detailed answer.
I updated the configuration as explained (indeed, these "exclusive" settings were selected)... and for now it's working 👍

Bad news, my sound connection broke during performance after x hours (x > 5).
One night and the night after 😥

I quickly switched to the standalone mode of my controller, so I didn't take time to dig and understand what was wrong. A guess: a lllllong background task of stem calculation. I suspected it to make my PC heat too much, and at that time, I didn't know how to cancel it (for ppl interested in: Stems folder ⇨ right click ⇨ pause or cancel)
