Hi,
I’ve encountered a recurring issue when using VirtualDJ on a MacBook Pro 2020 (Intel i7, 32GB RAM) running macOS Sonoma/sequoia. When I connect two CDJs (tested with both CDJ-400 and CDJ-2000 Nexus) via USB in MIDI mode, one of the units often emits a high-pitched/whistling sound upon launching VirtualDJ.
This issue:
Happens only with VirtualDJ 2024/2025 on newer macOS versions (sonoma and up).
Did not happen on older macOS versions with the exact same hardware and setup.
Appears randomly on one CDJ (not always the same).
Stops completely if I close and re-open VirtualDJ.
Also occurs on another identical MacBook Pro (same macOS version), so it’s not user-specific.
I’ve tested:
Multiple USB cables and hubs (powered and non-powered),
Connecting CDJs directly to the Mac (no hub),
Disabling Bluetooth and Wi-Fi,
Resetting MIDI and audio configurations,
Latest drivers and VirtualDJ build installed.
This seems to be a compatibility or USB/MIDI initialization issue on macOS sonoma or later. It affects both Pioneer CDJ-400 and CDJ-2000NXS.
Could you please look into this, or advise on a workaround or fix?
Thanks in advance!
