Hello everyone, I’ve programmed some Windows utilities that have been very useful to me and I want to share them with you.
VDJtoSerato – This program writes the Hotcues and Loops information from the Virtual DJ database, in Serato format, directly into the MP3 files themselves. That way, you can transfer this data to various programs that read it when they analyze a track, including Serato, Algoriddim DJay Pro, and Virtual DJ itself.
Stars – It reads the rating information (stars) from MP3 files on Windows and transfers it to iTunes. Thus, any program that works with iTunes can also have the same star ratings that we use in Virtual DJ.
VDJdatabase – This program is still in an experimental phase, and since it modifies the Virtual DJ database (it’s the only one that does), I recommend using it with great caution. The previous program (VDJtoSerato) can optionally also write relevant data from the Virtual DJ database into the MP3 file itself; this data can then be used to import into another Virtual DJ database using this utility.
The programs are quite intuitive (I think) and the interfaces are in English so that non-Spanish speakers can understand them.
VDJtoSerato, since it can be more complicated, comes with a PDF manual in both Spanish and English.
You can download them here:
https://www.chirro.com/dj/programas.php
If you like them or have any questions, you can leave a comment here or write to me at chirro@gmail.com.
I hope you find them as useful as I do.
Best regards.

This is an excellent way to save Virtual DJ’s Hotcues and Loops information in the MP3 files, just like Serato does.

I don't want to rain on your parade, but what's the point to save hotcues and loops on the tags of the files, when VirtualDJ itself won't read that info ?
And if you "convert" them to be Serato compatible before writing to tags, what happens with action POIs, or hotcues greater than 8 ?

Hello everyone. It’s been a while since I stopped by here—I forgot to enable comment notifications on this post.
In response to PHANTOMDEEJAY:
Hi! I’ve spent a lot of time placing Hotcues and Loops in strategic, very important spots in every track. It took me quite a while to do, and more than once I’ve lost that information because my database became corrupted. By saving it directly into the MP3 file, I ensure I can recover it—or even read it in other programs.
You say VirtualDJ can’t read this info, but that isn’t correct—VirtualDJ can indeed read it.
Besides, I don’t use action POIs or more than eight Hotcues, so they’re not relevant for me.
As I mentioned in my main post, this is an application I created for personal use and that I use a lot. If anyone else finds it useful, they can download it—it’s completely free.
My only intention is to share a tool that works great for me. I’d been looking for something like this (for free) for a long time, and when I couldn’t find it, I programmed it myself.
Regards.
