This past weekend, I used my MacBook Pro without any controller connected to it and used the headphone jack out to a speaker. While setting it up and playing softly as my text run, it sounded fine, but the second I brought the volume up, I would get a lot of distortion, it sounded really bad, tin-can kind of bad. And it happened on either deck one or deck two. So, could anyone tell me what the proper sound settings are when just using your MacBook, going straight into a speaker for a cocktail hour or ceremony? What would be the correct settings so there's no distortion when you're trying to play a song at a high level, which is what I needed to do because I was playing at an outside ceremony. Thank you in advance for your help.

Hey Ralph, what kind of speaker did you use? Have you used your laptop with that same speaker and configuration before with the same results? 10 times out of 10 when using your laptops 3.5mm aux out directly into a speaker the sound quality wont be ideal and the volume will be on the lower end, which will get distorted when approaching any level above 80% on your laptop. Your best bet would be to use a small mixer (mackie makes some affordable ones) to run through your speakers xlr or 1/4 inch inputs.

Hey Dash,
Thanks for the input. Would you be talking about a little mixer like the Wego for example?
And I agree with everything you talked about again thank you I was just hoping there were audio setting I could try, like when I'm connected to my performer and the audio setting change to the right setting for my controller Just trying to see what i should be setting it to in the audio setting I mean I would think there has to be something to try,
Again thank you for your thoughts I appreciate you.
