LOL - That escalated quickly!

Hopefully never.

Hopefully soon

I don't have a horse in this race, but it seems odd that the most versatile DJ software is left out of the Apple party.

My guess is because VDJ allows offline caching of music files from streaming services and Apple, being the walled garden that it is, doesn't want to allow that.

I just want Apple Music integration so I can quit paying an extra $20 for Tidal. I own my music but like to use Tidal for requests I don't have or the 1st dance song that is only going to be played once ever. But it will need to allow offline cache before I would make the switch.

The Deezer integration also doesn't support download/caching, so that is probably not the reason

My guess is that Atomix/VDJ simply wasn't invited this time around :)

But if it turns out that there is an open API than everyone can use, and Apple doesn't charge the DJ software vendors for it, then I'm pretty sure Atomix will create support as well :)

I'm almost certain the ability to cache isn't the issue - that would be a term that's negotiated by them and fully controllable by automix devs on the VirtualDJ side (they would just disallow caching for the Apple Music provider).
It's hard to say what happened here without inside knowledge but it's probably already on the Devs radar.

Thanks for the clarification, I am new to VDJ so it was just a guess. I love your videos, they have helped a lot with the transition from Serato and seeing how powerful VDJ really is.

No, VDJ allows caching only for TIDAL. So Apple could be integrated like deezer or others ...

Any updates on this? Serato is killin the game right now but I really love to use VDJ so whats up?

I switched to VDJ in 2020 from Serato but now I see VDJ getting left behind. I'm crossing my fingers that Apple music is integrated soon. I don't care about Stems because I'll be using it for those odd requests and/or cocktail and dinner music net when it comes to actually dj and rock a party.

I'm not sure how you guys are drawing these weird conclusions. VirtualDJ pretty much leads the feature pack in the streaming category (most service type integrations - Music , Video and Karaoke), controllers supported and features (give or take a few improvements required on features like beatgridding).

Not having Apple Music doesn't change facts, it's just a service they haven't been invited to yet.

VinylTouch that "herd mentality" wins ever time. SMH

I think they call it "social proof" now tho, people cant think for themselves so if they see a group of people doing something they just jump in and have to do it as well even if they know its wrong.....

I have no issue with ppl following the trends/wanting to be in the in crowd - that's part of being human.

What's weird to me is using subjective (and sometimes pretty silly) thoughts and emotion as a fact as a result of that desire to be included, because what is really being said by that is the only innovation/features/hardware choices that matter are the ones that some certain set of people say/DJ platform announces.
It's not to say that not having these services isn't disappointing, but singling our their absence somehow equal to being left behind as a complete DJ platform...just confusing to read. And for the ppl threatening rage quit...amusing to read (where were these people before these services integrations were announced? Did they just start DJing this year or last year?).
Unfortunately, this kind of thinking is what the "in" companies depend on.
