Hi there,
Since several releases I have had a strange behavior when launching samples via assigned buttons. I have been using this action for years and now it fails.
The problem is that the first sample of the page is executed instead of the one having the focus. I was thinking it was a configuration issue after several updates but finally I have installed a brand new release (v2025 b8502) without any customization on a separate computer and I ran into the same issue.
The support closed my ticket saying it is not a bug, it is a normal behaviour since the new sample engine has been released. So I have no option to fix the problem. It had a real impact during my live performance.
To reproduce the issue using the keyboard it is very simple (sorry it is in french):
- open controller / advanced editor
- in key field enter “RIGHT ALT” to run a test using “alt gr” key
- assign action “sampler_play_stop”
- In sampler page , click on one sample in the middle of the page (in my example Technohat)
- Press key “Alt Gr”. In my case the first one is executed ‘DomKick” and that's the issue
I have tested with different external devices, same issue.
If someone (or the support team) can test this action I can have a feedback from the field.
Thank a lot in advance

You can use sampler_play_stop current to play the selected sample

Thanks for your reply, unfortunately the problem remains …
But for example if I try "sampler_play_stop 4" it works for the sample n°4 ...

Indeed, will fix.
In the meantime, if the focus is on the sampler sideview, you could just use enter key to trigger the sample

Thanks for handling this issue , by the way, fyi, the problem occurs for any action sampler_play*
Concerning the enter key, in the default configuration there is no assigment to RETURN key so .. nothing happens ...
Right now my only option is to use the mouse .. i can manage while the fix is released.
Thank you for your quick feedback.

You could map a key to browser_enter
