I'm using a Numark Pro 3 controller and I can't use the controller's buttons just the computer. I have tried reinstalling virtual DJ, I reinstalled the drivers and I still can't get it to work. I have a pro license so that shouldn't be the problem. I think I need to get a pop up giving permission to use the sound card but I'm not getting that pop up

what drivers ? Mixtrack doesnt have any

- trying all USB ports of computer
- trying with different USB cable
- trying with old USB 2.0 ports or USB 2.0 (powered) hub

On this subject Babis, I have had issues with the MCX8000 controller losing sound after a non-specific period of time (sometimes up to 4 hours) on both ASIO and WASAPI and someone else pointed out it could be an issue using a USB2 controller on a new computer with USB3 / Thunderbolt ports.
Is there an adapter available that can convert thunderbolt to USB2?
It doesn't happen on all laptops but I have had to return previous ones as I couldn't figure out what the issue was.
