more Virtual DJ export options for standalone equipment, some example in the image

Don't the Denon's read CDJ usb sticks too?

Yes the Primes can read Rekordbox data and convert it directly on the hardware.

One benefit of a dedicated Engine export option would be to support their ability to playback stems on their standalone gear.

....except they can't play back stems from other software, only their own.

Ditto with other devices/software. There's no cross compatibility.

I tried using the CDJ export for my Prime Go plus and it didn't work that well. Will have another go and see what happens.

It would be really cool to be able to export everything from Virtual DJ and not even need to use Rekordbox

It would be amazing

You don't need to use Rekordbox. The CDJ export option puts it in Rekordbox format.

Step 1) Export from VDJ
Step 2) Import to Prime

I guess you haven't even tried it. You're asking for a feature that already exists.

Maybe you don't know, but I'll tell you, in the export option there are only CDJ 400, CDJ 2000 and 2000nexus, there are no other options as per the image I placed here, export to the SC6000 or Prime Go without using the Ganbiarrado mode of rekordbox and yes from Virtual DJ directly to the Denon SC6000, do you understand now?

You don't need other options!

The CDJ export mode creates data that works in a Prime player.

Do YOU understand now?

I think he's referring to an option that doesn't need the on unit conversion which would be cleaner I guess.

Having used both I think it's fine for a one off but ultimately you're better maintaining a separate Engine DB for regular use.

I don't think there's any common format that rane/denon supports but the cdj 3000 doesn't? So probably you can just select cdj 3000

Ideally yes it would be nice to have a direct option for Engine format, but CDJ/Rekordbox is "industry standard" (there I said it) and it should work.

It would be nice to have Engine import VDJ data directly too, but that's unlikely.

Not tried it myself, but now Rekordbox has the fancy beatgridding, I mean to try doing a few tracks then seeing how they fare on the Prime 4.

Mileage may vary with the advanced beatgridding transfer from Rekordbox - it depends in what is allowed in the destination software. For example, conversions to Serato are limited as apparently Serato puts a cap on how many beatgrid anchors you can add for a track (not sure of the tech reasons exactly buy at the very least, since beatgrid info can be stored in metadata for some filetypes, an algorithm that's agressive in introducing new anchors (which apparently the Rekordbox one is) could result in the output being different from the input).

I'm hoping that Atomix devs make this flexible (anchor placemrnt + BPM reconsideration) - choose a sane default (maybe reconsideration every 2 - 4 bars (8 - 16 beats 4/4 time) by default) but allowing for that reconsideration window to be adjustable within reason.
Maybe also hoping for easy selection of a beat on the grid and tuening that into a marker (for tracks with weird swings of timing).

It would be nice as a VDJ and Engine user if I could export from VDJ (with cues, beatgrids etc) to an Engine format then just be able to add new files to avoid maintaining two separate DB systems.

That's what I'm talking about, you don't need to use anything from Rekordbox to use it on the Denon sc6000 for example.

Yes, it would be great, I disagree that Pioneer is still the industry standard, only if it is the aggressive marketing industry, giving free equipment to famous DJs and with visibility on the web just to seem like a standard... It's been a while since Pioneer or Alpha something, is not the choice of the majority for several reasons.

That already works. That's what I do
I don't have Rekordbox installed at all to do this

You dont need rekordbox, as Denon products read it.

What is the problem??

I do it all the time and it just works.

Otherwise make everything in VDJ and use Lexicon to move it to your Engine software.
