Topic: Automatic update quick filter?
Hey,
how can i set update the quick filter automatic?
At the moment i have to reset it everytime.
Because i use a key and a bpm filter.
When i drag a new track the filter isnt set to the new values.

What are the filters you are using exactly?
Given you referred to Key and BPM - maybe you want to be using Key Difference and BPM Difference filters (they filter relative to the track in the master deck)? Is the deck you are loading the songs to the master deck (VirtualDJ normally handles this selection automatically but it can be overidden manually).
Regular filters (e.g. a Key or BPM listing) do not automatically switch based on master deck song info, they are meant for you to manually use to narrow search DB results.
 
I use:

Key Difference <= 1
and
Bpm Difference <= 10

But when i use a track +-1Key, i have to reset the quickfilter again and again.
 
In that case I don't think it refilters automatically (adjustment of pitch is the same way too).
I guess they drew the line somewhere (more refreshing = more resource usage), and with a pitch slider value being almost continuous it's reasonable to stop the refresh after some point.
However with the keys, there are distinct levels that aren't too numerous and the key match indicator (tick) seems to update eitvh deck key changes so it's probably not unreasonable to expect it to refresh there.
With the pitch they may have to do more to not over refresh, like look at discrete points.

It can be scripted,

rsi makes a note of quick_filters in use, it also makes a note of a few track attributes, if an attribute changes turn all the filters off and back on again.
 


What's needed to get filters to refresh? any filters that are on. turn them off and back on.
Can we query that? yes so we can save that too.
When do we need to do that? only when a filter is on & some attribute has changed.
Can we query for those conditions? yes

95% of the program is scriptable, 95% of problems can be solved with script. That's all I do; "how do I do it manually? can I script the decisions and actions I performed?"

Thx, thats work but i have to trigger the custom button before, i wish i can use it the the browser filter.
 
that script can run in the background and will not matter until it's needed
 
curious about this as well, would be willing to pitch into the fund if it requires a more involved solution
