Ok, I am about to buy the program. My question is, if I have only one sound card which is going to the stereo, how do I monitor the second track that is not yet playing, the one that is about to be mixed in? thanks

With this config, you can either buy a stereo splitter and use the "single output/speakers-headphones" mode, or by a second, or a 3D soundcard.

Mama was right, but when you buy atomixmp3 you will buy for sure a second sound card.

A cheap $10 sound card available at just about any local computer retailer does the trick just fine.
Shucks, I use 2 $10 sound cards with my external mixer with great results.. dont overspend on sound boards.. it's a waste..

If you are using an external mixer....
ALL U NEED IS A BASIC 16 BIT SOUND CARD At THE CORNER STORE...
Many people spend their money on cards such as SB Live! which is just a waste of money if you are going to use it only for this purpose.
Keep in mind....
ALL SOUND CARDS HAVE THE SAME THING IN COMMON.....
THEY ARE ALL 16 BIT (Except the SB Audigy; They are 24 Bit)
Cheers.
