Topic: External sounds not running through Denon MC6000Mk2 - Page: 2

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Why don't you have these all-important sounds on the VDJ sample pads?

That way you don't need to involve any other software and you have far better control of their volume.

Thanks for your tone. The sounds are all important to my job. Each team has an allocated buzzer sound. There could be 30 teams, they pick their buzzer from a list on the software. I don’t need to explain any further. It’s been sorted.

There's nothing wrong with my tone. They're important and that's what I wrote.

Having the sounds in VDJ would make things so much easier. The general idea when running DJ software is to have that (only that) as the sound source. Allowing other sounds from your computer or second program to play as well is normally an unwanted thing.

This is the reason you're having problems. It's not a standard config (for live work) to have two different programs running, which both produce sound.

Just trying to give you the best advice here...

I know it’s not ideal but running the quiz does require both softwares running at the same time. If you’re ever free get yourself down to a speedquiz (they’re all over the UK) the host will tell you the same. I even contemplated buying a standard mixer for this work and using the Denon for weekends (karaoke and functions). But I’ve sorted it now so I’m happy.

Don’t u think it’s worth to tell what your problem was?
You did provide very limited info from the start so how anyone here could help u out would need a miracle it felt like.

Actually your responses and advice were spot on Mr Jackson. It ended up not being a Denon issue but my PC settings that needed configuration. If i didn't explain fully enough, though, I apologise.
