Larger 'Play' buttons.. the old format was a bit larger.. I seem to miss them quite a lot..

I usually drag songs in my players with two fingers but you can add them to the playlist, using a third finger selecting the playlist. But then tracks seem to be placed to the identical position as it had in the list it's dragged from.

Watch this video please: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gC4Ww3f1hAo

I can do skin tweaks if bigger buttons is a thing you want, as to your video, is it always dragging to under the selected position? therefore just pick the spot before you drag?

PM me is you want the skin tweak.

In my message I typed dragging to a playlist but it's the "Automix" list actually, and positions for items that are dragged to the "automix" are taken over. No problem with small lists, but with more than 100 items and a larger '"Automix" list, items got lost.. and not easy to find then.

I have no idea how to PM on the Virtual DJ forum.. but thanx for your offer to modify larger buttons.
I don't need/use the loop stuff. Just the regular sized Cue and Stop.. but a larger x-fader and Play button would be much apreciated.

Oh.. and an Automix on/off button would also come in handy sometimes.. :-)

The GUI has been modified with larger buttons for the play section.. Loop functions deleted. Thanx for that!!

I'm curious if the problem with the sequencenumber, taken over from the playlist when putted it in the automix list can also be solved.

You can only remote channels 1 and 2. If you could remote channels 3 and 4 with Remote app, it would be a perfect companion for a 2 deck controller.

The remote follows leftdeck/rightdeck, so I think you can use invert_deck on a custom button to swap the left deck to deck 3 and the right to deck 4

When you attach a controller, you can choose which channels is going to control (1,2 - 3,4 - Lef/Right) etc. If you could make that choice also for Remote (just the same menu that appear in controllers setup), then you could have a 2 channel controller which always control 1,2 and an auxiliary phone/tablet for occasional 3,4. Just like if you had attached a secondary controller. Changing left/right can make you crazy in a few clicks.

Dear VirtualDJ Team,

I hope you’re doing well.

I’ve been using VirtualDJ Remote on my iPad as part of my DJ setup for years, and I truly appreciate the flexibility and control it provides. However, I’ve encountered a persistent issue when using the app over a wired Ethernet connection instead of Wi-Fi. The app either fails to connect or crashes unexpectedly, making it unreliable in professional environments.

To troubleshoot this, I have performed several tests:
1. Wi-Fi Connection: The app works flawlessly when connected via Wi-Fi. There are no crashes, and the connection remains stable.
2. Wired Ethernet with DHCP: When connecting the iPad to a wired network using an Ethernet adapter with DHCP enabled, VirtualDJ Remote fails to connect or randomly closes.
3. Wired Ethernet with Static IP: Assigning a static IP to the iPad manually within the Ethernet settings resolves the crashes and improves stability, but this workaround should not be necessary.
4. Router vs. Direct Connection: Testing with and without a router between the laptop and iPad yielded similar results—without a properly assigned IP, the app does not work correctly.
5. Multiple iPads and Adapters: I have tested this on three different iPad Pro 2017 (12.9-inch) models, all running iOS, using different Ethernet adapters. The issue is consistent across all devices.

Given that wired connections offer greater stability and lower latency—essential for professional DJ setups—I kindly request that VirtualDJ Remote be fully optimized for wired Ethernet use in a future update. This would eliminate the need for manual workarounds and enhance the reliability of the app in demanding live performance scenarios.

Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to your response and hope to see this improvement in future updates.

Best regards,

Hello again, . It’s 22/03/25, and I still don’t have a solution for Ethernet on VirtualDJ Remote 8.4.8515. My post from 19/02/25 hasn’t gotten a response yet. Wi-Fi doesn’t work for me in live events due to latency. Is anyone else experiencing this need? Any updates from the developers? Please help, thanks!
